Also known as micropigmentation, permanent make-up is the technique where naturel pigments are injected on the skin using special tools. Apart from aesthetically having a better look, this practical technique is used by people who don’t want to use make-up products or people with pigmentation problems occurring over time or during birth. 

One important distinction between permanent make-up and tattoo is the area where ink is applied. During tattooing process, since the ink is applied in the dermal layer instead of epidermis, it is completely permanent. In permanent make-up, colour pigments injected on epidermis are removed from the body over time as cells renew themselves. 

Permanence of the application varies between 2 to 5 years depending on the individual’s metabolism. As pigments are removed from the body, colours in the application area fade away over time and are removed.
